As the Seattle Weekly discussed earlier, the Seattle Times has yet to report on Representative Ross Hunter's HB3176 and its proposed $100 million tax cut for Microsoft as well as $1.27 billion in amnesty. It may be that the paper is too busy running to the bank to cash Microsoft's latest check for a full page ad on the controversial 20th century vision to add more car lanes highway 520.
However, readers at the Seattle Times continue to report on Microsoft's tax dodge. This blog is seeing increasing traffic from Seattle Times comment threads. It seems readers are not just upset about Microsoft stepping into the 520 discussion but upset about the hypocrisy of its tax practices.
So, while Seattle Times reporters wait to confirm the facts on Microsoft's tax practices (not sure when they'll be done - but probably not before the urgent legislative session to deal with the $2.8 billion deficit), its readers are spreading the word about the topic more and more regularly.
Interestingly, readers at TechFlash and the Seattle PI (which have covered this story) are also driving more traffic to this blog from their own story comment threads.
